Chapter 6: Overview of the Record (continued)

At the time the Savior is crucified in Jerusalem, terrible destruction takes place in this Promised Land, and the majority of the population living here is destroyed. The Savior indicated in the Bible that, at this time, he had other sheep that were not of that fold that he must visit. One of the peoples he appears to are those who have survived the destruction in this Promised Land. They are those who were more righteous than those who have been destroyed were. Through them he reestablishes, as has done in Jerusalem, his gospel and church by setting up twelve righteous leaders in this land.

He states that the twelve apostles established in Jerusalem will be the judges over the twelve disciples he has established in this part of the world. His religion is not reestablished and the people live in a peaceful situation for two hundred years.

Towards the end of the two hundred years, pride takes over and some of the people become wicked. This situation grows and wars among the people take place. These wars continue until those who have been more righteous, who are the record-keeping people, become wicked themselves. These record-keeping people are completely destroyed by the opposing side.

When the last man of the record-keeping people, a white people, has made his final entry and buried the record, there is no one left to maintain the language or the records.

Just prior to burying his record for the last time, he (being the sole survivor of his people) has been living in hiding for about thirty-one years. He has the opportunity to observe the people who remained. He says in the record, that after destroying the white record-keeping people, those survivors (having been living after the manner of war for so many years) had divided into tribes, establishing chiefs over the tribes and continued to war against one another. He says that is was one continual round of murder and blood shed throughout the land, and that they become a loathsome and degenerated people, having no records to maintain their language, traditions, of religion.

It was approximately 579 years later when my people, the Vikings from Iceland, arrived on the land.

According to my family's record, meaning the Viking records, even a people as fearless as the Vikings chose not to remain among the massive remnants of degenerated people who lived off one another by warring with one another. So they returned to Iceland and gave up the land.

After about 492 years more, Columbus arrives to find this same people, again as foretold within the gold record. It tells in the dreams, that a man is touched by the spirit, and crosses the many waters to discover the remnant of the people living in this Promised Land. Many of the white race, called in the record "Gentiles", come to this land and finally take it over and almost entirely destroy the remnants of the earlier people.

In time one of these Gentiles, finds the records of the Indian ancestors. He and his followers then teach the remaining people who are not destroyed, of their own history and future heritage.
